It is with heavy hearts that the family of Patricia (Wanda) Eames announce her unexpected passing after a brief illness at the age of 84.
Predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob) Eames, left to celebrate Wanda’s memory are her daughter Debbie (Lee) and grandchildren Brett and Kayla.
The most proud mom and grandmother, Wanda never missed an opportunity to tell you about her family, especially her grandchildren.
Born in Port Arthur on March 3, 1939, Wanda lived her entire life in Thunder Bay. In her early years, she had a passion for bowling and loved to share the story of how she came within one strike of a perfect game. Many will remember Wanda as the cheerful face you knew at Dawson Cleaners spending over 40 years there until her retirement.
She will be lovingly remembered by all who met her for the excited smile she would greet you with every time she saw you. Her kindness, patience and unending positivity inspired many. Wanda was an incredibly strong, independent lady only recently leaving her home for Hogarth Riverview Manor where she made several new friendships. She so enjoyed and looked forward to her regular visits from two very special friends, Rosemary and Fiona, who treated mom like family, for which we are forever grateful. Since her passing on September 19, we have heard from so many expressing what an incredible lady mom was; thoughtful, funny and so wonderful to be around. Thank you to all who have shared these fond memories with us. She will be so dearly missed.
We express our sincere gratitude to the nurses and PSWs of HRM 5S. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.
