David’s Obituary
Olman David Uhlman ~ 6 April 1942 -14 November 2024 was a resident of Mountain Lea Lodge, Bridgetown, N.S. formerly of Greenwood, N.S. He passed at Valley Regional Hospital, Kentville. He fought a gallant battle with dementia spanning several years.
David spent his career in the Banking Profession starting in a small branch in Kennetcook, N.S. where he made many lifelong friends. In the latter years he was in the Inspection Department of the bank. He spent several years working for a bank in Jamaica before retirement in Greenwood. Golfing and stamp collecting were his main hobbies where he was the secretary of the Valley Stamp Club. David loved books which led him to open a small shop, “Books ‘n Things” on the Bay of Fundy shore in Margaretsville N.S. for several years. He enjoyed talking to visitors and tourists. David was an avid Montreal Canadiens fan collecting all sorts of souvenirs. He is survived by (first marriage) Linda (Jackson), Hampton, N.B., son Bruce (Cailin) Jackson; grandchildren Emmet and Rosa, Saint John, NB., brothers Garry, Malcolm, Stephen, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by parents, Norman and Olive (Uhlman), (second marriage) Norma (Bernard) Kingston, Jamaica, brothers Philip, James and Murray.
Cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be in the New Tremont Cemetery at a later date. Donations in David’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
