July 4th, 1937- July 2nd, 2024
With great sadness, we announce the passing of Norman Hounsell of Port Union at Golden Heights Manor, two days before his 87th birthday.
Leaving to mourn are his loving wife of 64 years Blanche Hounsell, son Donald, three daughters Carol, Karen (Harold) and Kymberly, six grandchildren Adam (Andrea), Jesse (Melody), Robyn (Doug), Nathan (Megan), Myles (Anna) and Kathlyn (Sam) and seven great grandchildren. Also leaving to mourn are his two brothers Cluney (Sarah) and Llewellyn (Donna) and a large circle of family and friends.
Norman was predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Minnie Hounsell, and his sisters Mae, Marion, Gertie and Audrey.
Thank you to Private Josiah Squibb Memorial Pavilion, Carbonear Staff for the excellent care they have provided to Norman since June 2023. Also many thanks to the staff of Golden Heights Manor, Bonavista.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd and Thursday, July 4th from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00-9:00pm from Strathie’s Funeral Home, Catalina.
Funeral Service will take place on Friday, July 5th at 2:00pm from St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Catalina. Interment to follow at St. Peter’s Anglican Cemetery.
