Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Norma, who left us on Monday, October 28, in her ninety-first year.
Norma’s warmth and love touched everyone in her family and beyond. She was a devoted mother to Stephen (Cheryl) and Julia (Daniel) and a proud Nana to Jennifer (Michael), Stephanie (Dusan), Janine, Courtney (Mark), Lauren (Taylor) and Ryan. Norma’s love will be deeply missed by her great-grandchildren: Ryker, Charlotte, Maksim, Tori, Harrison, Luka, and Remi.
Norma was predeceased by her devoted husband, Leonard and son, Stephen.
Born on August 15, 1933, in Newport, Wales, to parents, Winnifred and Bertram, Norma spent her early life in Wales where she met Len, the love of her life. They married on August 6, 1952, and shared a beautiful journey that spanned decades.
In 1965, Norma and Len moved their young family to Canada and made a new home in Surrey, British Columbia. Norma quickly set roots in her new country, finding joy in volunteering for the local lacrosse community and working at a nearby community centre.
Norma will be remembered for her devotion, love and commitment to her family, her joy in the kitchen as a talented cook and baker and her skilled passion for sewing, quilting and knitting.
A service will be held at St. Luke’s Anglican Church on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 10am.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Oakville Hospital Foundation, whose care and support were a great comfort.
