Norbert Peter Murawka entered into the presence of the Lord on July 30, 2023, at the age of 84.
He will be lovingly remembered by his children: Christine (David), Connie (Mathew). Grandchildren: Ryan, Brooke, Mark, Grace, Scott. Siblings: Ilona (George), Regina (Rainer), Uwe (Monika) and their families. Norbert was predeceased by his brother Andreas (Evi).
Norbert was born in Breslau, Germany on January 21, 1939. He immigrated to Canada in his mid twenties, working on Vancouver Island, and on mining and construction sites in British Columbia before moving to Fort McMurray, Alberta, where he worked and raised his family. After retiring Norbert lived in Edmonton and then later in the Okotoks and Calgary area. He enjoyed travelling the world, dancing, skiing, hiking, biking, tennis and rollerblading, well into his 70s. For his 70th birthday Norbert went skydiving in Hawaii. Norbert’s life was dedicated to his children and grandchildren, and his legacy lives on in them.
Norbert will be most remembered for his lust for life and endless energy. His gentlemanly nature, generosity and dedication to family are qualities that others often use to describe him. His love and support will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
His family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at Age Care Seton for their incredible care.
