Nora Rilkoff passed away peacefully on August 16, 2024 in Kelowna with her children by her side.
Nora leaves behind her beloved family – son Jack Rilkoff (Karen), daughter Kathy Stanesic (Ivo), and grandsons Douglas Rilkoff and Stepan Stanesic (Jacy). She is also survived by her brothers Alex (Verna) and Richard (June) Sheloff, brother-in-law Nick Rilkoff, sister-in-law Vera Osachoff, and many many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Nora was born March 21, 1941 at Wadena, Saskatchewan to Alex and Nora Sheloff. She married Peter Rilkoff July 18, 1959 and they had a long and happy life together. Nora lovingly raised their two children and worked hard at various jobs eventually retiring from Government Agents Office in Nelson. Later in life Nora and Peter indulged in their love of travel. They travelled by vehicle, by air and by ship enjoying twelve wonderful cruises to the US, South America and Europe. Peter passed away in 2013 and Nora continued living at South Slocan for a few years until moving to Castlewood Village.
Nora was an active resident at Castlewood Village and spent many happy years there. A special thank you to all the staff and Nora’s friends at Castlewood. The support she received from everyone at Castlewood was very much appreciated by both Nora and her family.
Nora was always a strong and independent woman and she remained so right up to the moment of her passing. Therefore, in honour of Nora’s wishes there will be no service.
