78 years, peacefully passed away on June 15, 2023 with his loving family by his side.
Beloved husband of Rita for almost 60 years. Cherished Papá of Alberto, Loredana (Steve) Vagnini, Lorenzo (Phebe), Sabrina (Roberto) Porporino and the late Loredana Di Salvo (1966). Much loved Nonno of Alessia (Kevin), James, Nikki (Nate), Rita, Lorenzo, Matteo, Gianluca, Francesco, Alessio, Cristiano and Giuliana. Dearest brother of Adriano, Anna, Gianfranco, and Luciano.
Predeceased by his parents Mario & Concetta and mother in law Francesca of Italy. Brother in law of the late Arturo (2016) and lovingly remembered by his sister in law Anna, and nephews Giorgio, Stefano (Mariaangela) and the late Cesare (1999) & wife Sherry of Canada. Missed by many nieces and nephews in Italy and France. Dearest friend to many especially Franco & Elsa Coletti.
Nicola was a dedicated family man whose wife, children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Sundays were a special day to spend with his family, friends, food, beer and wine. He was retired from Ford Motor Company in 2011 after 28 years of service. He couldn’t sit still, so in retirement he continued his hobby as a butcher at LaStella Supermarket.
He was a longtime member at the Caboto Club as well as 3rd degree member of the Holy Family Knights of Columbus Council 4386.
A special thank you to the staff of Extendicare Southwood Lakes for all their care and compassion shown to Nicola and our family.
Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society or Parkinson’s Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Visiting Sunday, June 25, from 3-5 & 7-9 pm with parish prayers at 4:30 pm and 3rd degree Knights of Columbus prayers at 7:15 pm.
Funeral service will be Monday June 26, at 8:45 am from Families First, 3260 Dougall Ave., South Windsor, 519-969-5841 to St. Angela Merici Church for mass of Christian burial at 9:30am. Entombment Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
