Obituary of Myrtle Janet Pollock
The family of Myrtle Pollock is saddened to announce her passing on June 16, 2023, at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 56. Born in Saint John on November 6th, 1966. She was the daughter of Sheila Speight and the late James Speight.
She is survived by her mother; husband Brian Pollock; daughters Mae “Jaime” Carver (Otty), Lisa Carver (Sean), Brittney “Jade” Pollock (Alex); granddaughters Chantal Carver-Cook (Logan Northrup), Lita-Marie Nott, Alina Carver; grandsons Evander and Drayden Hargrove; brothers James Speight, Charles Speight (MaryAnn), Robert Speight (Donya); sisters Sheila Speight, Susan Speight.
Predeceased by her father; brothers John Speight, Edward Speight, and Stephan Speight. Many nieces, nephews, and her best friend Wanda McIllwraith.
Myrtle worked at the McEsso McDonalds for 13 and a half years. Myrtle loved having her family around, collecting all things Mickey Mouse, and even named her cat Mickey – “Mickey Moo”. She also loved singing her & her husband’s favorite song during Karaoke night with her family. She loved hearing both of her oldest girls sing. She loved playing Bingo on Wednesday and Sunday nights. She encouraged everyone to live their lives to the best. Myrtle was very proud of all her family and all of their accomplishments. She is loved and will be missed by many.
Arrangements are under the care of Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424). There will be a Celebration of Life held at KV Billiards (98 Market St, Quispamsis) on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 7 pm. Donations in Myrtle’s memory may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation or The IWK Foundation.
