1934-2024
Murray H. Wilson of Mactaquac, NB passed away on September 4, 2024 at
Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. He was born on December 3, 1934 at
Mactaquac, a son of the late Harry D. and Camilla (Burden)
Wilson.
Murray owned Wilson Croft Farm and enjoyed milking his Ayrshire cows
and haying. He was a member of many farm organizations, including
being Past President of the Fredericton Exhibition. His favourite
time of year, after the harvest of crops, was getting his
“girls” ready for the Fredericton Exhibition. You could
find him in the cattle barn, getting ready for the cattle show. He was
a pillar of the community, spending countless hours volunteering with
4-H, Mactaquac Cemetery, his Church, Keswick Ridge Community Hall and
Home & School. He loved boating, water skiing and square dancing.
And how about Murray’s homemade strawberry ice-cream.
He is survived by his wife H. Jean (Burnett) Wilson; two sons Chadwick
Wilson and Drew Wilson (Danelle); grandchildren Sadie, Jetlin and
Beckett; siblings Hazel Grey (Gerald) and Kenneth Wilson (Mary);
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Murray was predeceased by his parents; siblings Jean Yerxa (late Guy),
Ruth Gilmore (late William), Lloyd Wilson (late Marie) and Helen
Jackson (late Robert); his Burnett in-laws, Ronald Burnett (late
Margaret) and Neill Burnett (late Olive).
Visiting hours will be held at Mactaquac Baptist Church, 1494 Route
105, Mactaquac, NB on Friday, September 13, 2024 from 1 to 3 pm and 6
to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held on Saturday morning, September
14, 2024 at 11 am with Pastor Peter Beckwith and Pastor Murray
MacDonald officiating. Interment at Mactaquac Cemetery.
For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Murray, the family
has suggested the Mactaquac Cemetery or Mactaquac Baptist Church.
