Murray Taylor of Maryfield, SK beloved husband of the late Jean Taylor and loving father of Beth and Linda passed away at the Southeast Integrated Long-Term Care in Moosomin, on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at the age of 90.
Murray was born on the family farm on November 19, 1933, to Ernest and Gladys Taylor. He was raised on this farm and received his education at Kola and Maryfield Schools. After school he worked on the farm with his dad until 1951. He then worked for Rennie McAdoo, Pioneer Fruit in Brandon, Searle Grain in Maryfield, and then in the garage for J.R. Stockton and Jack Brady for a total of eight years. He worked for 1 year with Menno Kroker at Kola, until becoming caretaker at Maryfield School in March 1967, a position he held until 1995.
On November 9, 1957, Murray married Jean Smith, and to this union two daughters, Beth and Linda, were born.
Left to mourn Murray’s passing is daughter Beth (Lloyd) Strong, their family; Amy (Tayt), their children, Kianah, Kyla and Kesler; Jeremy, his children, Mercedes and Nash, Tiffany (Jason), their children, Oaklen, Remy and Rogan. Daughter Linda (Danny) Roberts, their family; Jason, his children, Dani and Luke; Aerial (Antoine); Chelsea (Steve); one sister-in-law, Verla Smith (Maryfield). Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife Jean, his parents, Ernest and Gladys Taylor, in-laws, Bill and Alma Smith, brother, Austin Taylor, brother-in laws, Fred and George Smith, sister-in-laws, Margaret Smith and Vivian Taylor.
Funeral service at Woodville Cemetery, Kola, Manitoba, on Saturday, August 17, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. (Sask. Time)With Roy Bortolotto officiating. Reception to follow at Maryfield Auditorium Hall.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sun Rise Villa or to St. Andrew’s United Church, in memory of Murray.
