Obituary
It is with appreciation of a life well-lived and gratitude for many years of memories, that the family of Mona Patricia Estabrooks announces her passing which occurred on December 31, 2022, at the Loch Lomond Village. Born in Saint John, NB, on February 6, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Margaret (Ryan) Stevens.
In her earlier years, Mona worked as a teacher, the local newspaper, MRA and spent over 30 years working at Sears. She was a member of the Glen Falls Gems Senior Citizens Club and the CNR Pensioners Association – and was the acting secretary.
Mona had a passion for travelling the world with her husband Stephen. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and liked to bake. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mona will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mona is survived by her sons Peter, Robert (Nancy), Sheldon (Tanya); daughters Margaret Quartermain (Robert), Cynthia O’Leary and Karen McCullough, along with 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Stephen, son Stephen Jr., great granddaughter Ruby Grace Lavers, stepdaughter Ann Oliver and daughter-in-law Linda Estabrooks.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424) where visitation will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2023, between the hours of 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Fundy Chapel on Friday, January 6, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
Memorial donations towards the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Canada, or to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
