Obituary
Our beloved Minnie E. Higdon, of Dildo, NL, passed away peacefully at the Private Joshua Squibb Memorial Long-term Care Facility at the young age of 68; Minnie was a quiet, kind, loyal, passionate woman who loved her husband, family and grandchildren beyond measure. She cherished every moment that she was blessed with, and her memory will be forever in our hearts.
Predeceased by her loving husband of 46 years Randy Higdon; her parents, Wilf and Beatrice Harnum; Gosse; parents-in-law, Charles and Flora (Reid) Higdon; siblings, Selby Gosse, Edwina Ule, and Evelyn McLaren; brother-in-law, Bruce Mayne; and niece, Ashley Thompson.
She leaves to mourn her loving family, children Chasity (Craig) Mercer and Shawn (Stacy) Higdon; her precious grandbabies, who she loved beyond measure, Kaitlyn Budgell, Blake Mercer, Nathan Drover, Brandon Mercer, Riley Higdon and Jaxson Perry; siblings, Roy (Linda) Gosse, Larry (Muriel) Gosse, Lloyd (Dulcie) Gosse, Marion Mayne, Ruby (Chris) Wrathall, Joyce (Bruce) Little, Stella (Jerry) Pitcher, Jennie (Frank) Thompson, Richard Gosse; brothers and sisters-in-Laws; Edna (Richard) Perosino, Denny (Marg) Higdon, Robert (Wanda) Higdon, Christine (Chris) Rice, Lisa (Nikolay) Somov; special lifelong friend, Mary Penney; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.
We would like to send our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff of 4 North of the Private Joshiah Squibb Memorial Long-Term Care Facility. The care and compassion each one of you extended to Minnie and her family throughout the last year was second to none.
Cremation has taken place.
The family will be receiving relatives and friends for visitation, at Warren’s Funeral Home Dildo, NL, on Friday, November 17, 2023, from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
Funeral Service will be held at Warren’s Funeral Home on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 3:30 pm. With graveside service to take place immediately following at the All Saint’s Anglican Cemetery on Churchill Road, Dildo.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Minnie Higdon Memorial Fund in C/O Warren’s Funeral Home to help alleviate the family from funeral service expenses.
The family would also like to extend the invitation following all services to join them in sharing of
memories and stories at St. Barnabas Hall, Main Road, Blaketown, NL.
