It is with deep sadness we announce the sudden passing of
Michael L. Brown, 63 years, of Enfield,
on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at his residence.
Born in London, ON, he was a son of the
late C. Leroy and Marie (Spence) Brown.
As the middle brother of three boys, Michael grew up enjoying
all sports, competition, & team camaraderie. He was
a devoted and hopeful Leaf’s fan. He loved Hockey,
Formula 1, Nascar, Curling, and all sports. Where you saw
Michael, a Boston Terrier was always present. He had a
lifelong love for dogs and animals. Michael proudly served
our country for 30 years as a member of the Canadian Armed
Forces. Starting as a Reservist in Springhill, continuing
the majority of his career as an Airframe Technician. He was
stationed in Springhill, Debert, Victoria, Chatham, Greenwood and
finishing his career at 423 Maritime Helicopter Squadron 12 Wing
Shearwater. His aviation career didn’t end there.
He spent the next 14 years working as a Day of Operations Maintenance
Planner for Jazz Aviation, at the Halifax airport. Michael loved a
Diet Pepsi and a chat with friends. Friday nights would find
him at the Enfield or Elmsdale Legions for Karaoke. He was a
great singer. He was an unfailing friend, a helpful hand,
someone you could count on and trust. Michael’s
hard work, strong character, and sense of humour were obvious to
everyone.
He will be dearly missed by his spouse, Treena Larson,
Enfield; his Boston Terrier Dash; brothers David (Debra), Lethbridge,
AB and Peter, Vancouver, BC; as well as several nieces &
nephews, Samantha, Amber, Shawn, Aaron, Aaron Duayne, Brad, Julia, and
uncle & aunts.
Arrangements
are under the care and direction of the A H Brown
Funeral Home, 5 McFarlane Street, Sprinhill, (902 597
2361) where visitation will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2023 from
1:00 pm until 2:00 pm, followed immediately by his funeral service at
2:00 pm with K. Ruth Gamble, DLM, officiating. Refreshments
will be served afterwards, while immediate family briefly attend the
gravesite in the Hillside Cemetery, Springhill.
Donations in Michael’s memory may
be made to the Dartmouth SPCA or an animal shelter of your choice, or
the Trinity United Church, Springhill.
