Obituary
Mel Loshka passed away peacefully at the Invermay Health Centre on February 16, 2023, at the age of 70 years.
Mel was born to Joseph and Patricia (nee Lenuik) Loshka on January 23, 1953, at Canora Union Hospital, Canora, SK. He attended school at Dydland and Buchanan, SK. After school, he worked in road construction, trucking, welding and then ran a successful chemical company in Calgary, AB. Throughout his career, he suffered a number of serious work-related injuries. These caused him to live with chronic pain. His health further deteriorated after he suffered several brain aneurysms in 2001. His health seriously affected his ability to support himself. The final two years of his life were spent at the Invermay Health Centre, where he received first class care from their nurses and staff.
Mel was predeceased by his grandson, Aiden; parents, Joe and Patricia; as well as two brothers, Joe and Kyle.
He is survived by his daughter, Jodie and son, Evan; and one grandson, Roman; his sisters, Mona (Stewart) Brandt and Leah (Darren) Lozinsky; brother, Bradley (Candace) Loshka; and sister-in-law, Sylvia; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.
A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held.
Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Invermay Health Centre, as tokens of remembrance, in memory of Mel Loshka.
