Melba «Mo» Humby – 87, Lower Sackville. It is with
great sadness the family announce the peaceful passing of their loved
one, Melba Humby «Mo» at the VG Site, QEII, Halifax, on
Saturday, June 3, 2023. Born in Victoria Carbonear, Newfoundland, she
was a daughter of the late George and Julia Slade.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by
her beloved son, Keith; brothers, Nath, John, Arthur; parents-in-law,
Amy and Obediah Humby.
She will be deeply missed by her husband of 64 years,
Clayton; children, Rodney (Debbie) Tracy (Mark); daughter-in-law,
Winnie; precious grandchildren, Heather (Matthew), Amy, Mitchell;
great grandchildren, Lochlan, Thatcher, Thea; siblings, Georgia, Ella,
Anne (Tom), Renee (Michael), Howard (Carol). She will be deeply missed
by many nieces and nephews, relatives and
friends.
Special thanks to the VG hospital staff for the care and
compassion provided during her hospital stay. Also special thanks to
Northwood Homecare for their loving care over the past two
years.
Melba’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.,
Wednesday at Knox United Church, 567 Sackville Drive, Lower
Sackville. Private family funeral service will be held
followed by interment in Oakridge Memorial Gardens. In lieu
of flowers, donations to Souls Harbour Rescue Mission or charity of
your choice are welcomed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner
