Maxine Curran Obituary
MAXINE CURRAN, 73, of Brampton, Ontario passed away suddenly and peacefully on August 19, 2024. Her death was deemed as natural causes.
Maxine was born on April 14, 1951 in Banbridge, Northern Ireland to Harold B.J. And Gladys Curran.
After graduating Knockbreda High School, Maxine joined the Eagle Star Insurance Company in Belfast, kickstarting a career in the Insurance industry that would span 30+ years in both Northern Ireland and Toronto, Canada. Maxine furthered her career by studying at the College of Business Studies in Belfast and at the Insurance Institute of Canada. She earned distinction in her field of studies.
Taking early retirement, she switched career direction to follow her life long passion of helping those who needed in-home assistance. She trained to become a certified Elderly Home Care Assistant. Only when her own health was in decline and she physically could not give the level of care she was committed to, did she reluctantly resign from this career which she found very rewarding.
Maxine was gifted with a wonderful artistic ability and had a fabulous flair for fashion and decorating. She loved gardening, her pets and reading.
Maxine is survived by:
Her brother, DON CURRAN, his wife, Ildi and their family, Gabi, Shannon and Kaeley.
Her sister, ELAINE CABREY and her family, MELANIE BERGSHOEFF, her husband, Dan and their family Brennan, Tennyson, Adalai, Solomon and Tehillah and JILL VAN DUYN, her husband, Will and their family Keira, Tiernan and Lexi.
Her sister, HILARY CARGILL, her husband, Geoff and their family, GENNA EBERLE, her husband Kevin and their daughter, Harper. And also ALEXANDRA TRAYNOR, her husband, Kyle and their daughters Lily and Evelyn.
She is also survived by family in Northern Ireland, England and Australia.
Maxine had been lifelong friends with Beryl McNamee (Horner), Pamela Johnston and Iris Griffiths (Nelson) all of whom are deeply saddened at Maxine’s passing. Each remembers Maxine as a beautiful girl with a dazzling smile and vivacious personality who had a deep and abiding faith as a Christian. Maxine, too, is lovingly remembered by her numerous friends and colleagues in Brampton and Mississauga, Ontario.
A Celebration of the Life of Maxine will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at 1 pm at Freedom Centre, 4343 Regional Road 25, Oakville, Ontario. Light refreshments will be offered after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the OSPCA or the Oakville Milton Humane Society (The links are noted below.)
