It is with great sorrow that the family announces the passing of Mathieu after a lengthy illness on Friday, November 3rd, 2023 at the age of 33. Mathieu fought hard until the very end. He rarely complained and refused to give up.
Mathieu will always be dearly loved by his parents Anne-Marie (Gerald) Bond and Terry (April) Leblond.
Cherished brother of Daniel (Tanya), Justin (Heaven), Jessica (Shawn) and Caleb Leblond. He leaves behind his nieces and nephews Jocelyne Lessard, Dillan Cyr, Alexandre Leblond, Nicholas Leblond, Bryson Lapierre, Noah Lapierre, Liam Lapierre, Royce Ervin and Madyson Ervin.
Mathieu had a great love for the outdoors, and had a deep passion for fishing, gardening, cooking and watching sci-fi shows. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, often bringing them on little adventures and outings.
He had a huge heart. He was always kind and caring to everyone he knew and everyone he met. Mathieu overcame many obstacles throughout his life, and never ceased to amaze all who knew him with his strength, strong will, determination and perseverance.
Mathieu was deeply loved and he will never be forgotten. He will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you and appreciation to many doctors, nurses and hospital staff for taking care of Mathieu during his many stays at the hospital. He formed special bonds with many of them.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 11am at St-Joseph Parish followed by a reception in the hall of the church. Remembrance donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Canada or the Timmins Food Bank would be greatly appreciated.
