It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma, and Great-great-Grandma Mary Rosaleen “Rose” Uri with family by her side at Joseph Creek Care Village on Thursday July 20th, 2023 at the age of 96.
Mom was born on September 15, 1926 to Samuel and Mabel Moon in Wynndel, B.C. Mom shared many stories of her times as an orchard and berry farm girl. After returning from the War; our dad, Sonny swept Mom off her feet and they were married in 1946, later blessed with 5 children. Mom was a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker, cook, baker and gardener. She loved music and was a good singer.
Left to mourn are her children, Lynn Maffioli, Lyle (April) Uri, Marilyn (Don) Mitchell, Sue (Phil) Renney, son-in-law Brian (Trudy) Clifford, her grandchildren Nicole LaSalle, Michelle (Chad) Sedrovic, DeeDee(Karl) Palmer, Marty Uri, Anneliese (Joe) DeSilva, Andrew (Danielle) Clifford, Danielle (Joel) Tara, Greg (Christy) Mitchell, Jeff (Catherine) Mitchell, Natalie (Greg) Sarahs, Craig (Whitney) Renney, as well as 22 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. She loved us all.
Rose was predeceased by her husband Sonny, daughter Cheryl, son-in-laws Grant Maffioli and Cookie LaSalle.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Joseph Creek Care Village for the excellent care of our Mom as well as Dr. D. Lenz and Dr. D. Post.
A memorial Service will be held in Rose’s honour on August 5th, 2023 at 11:00am at McPherson Funeral Home in Cranbrook. Reception to follow.
