Obituary
With great sadness, the family of the late Mary Wishlow announce her unexpected passing at Saltcoats, SK, on October 5, 2023, at the age of 90 years.
Mary was born December 25, 1932, in Canora, SK, to Micheal and Mabel (Hancheroff) Krukoff. She attended Strathcona country school near Good Spirit Lake. Mary grew up on the farm near Good Spirit Lake and lived on the Wishlow family farm for most of her adult life.
She was the loving wife to Peter for 64 years.
In 1998, Mary and Peter moved into Yorkton to enjoy their retirement years.
In her last 5 years of Mary’s life, she resided in Saltcoats, SK, at Lakeside Manor Care Home, where the family is very appreciative of the wonderful care she received.
Mary was a very kind, loving, hardworking lady. If you had the pleasure to know Mary, you’d love her! Her cup was totally full of life; a kind, gentle soul who never complained. She loved to cook, can, garden, sew, crochet, knit and coffee with her friends. You would never leave her place without being fed along with taking a care package of food home with you.
Together, Mary enjoyed many late nights of cards and tea with anyone who would play with her. A nighthawk by nature, she loved to stay up until 2 AM and then sleep in until 9.
She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother.
Over the years, Mary cherished her annual summer trips to BC to visit her mom, sisters, nieces and nephews.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Mary was predeceased by her parents, Micheal and Mabel Krukoff; sisters, Molly Fraser and Anne Popoff; and daughter, Marcy Hill.
She is survived by her husband, Peter; sister, Mabel Chernoff; daughter, Tracy (Lonnie) Desrosiers; sons, Mic, Sheldon (Rose), and Perry (Gayle); grandchildren: Amber Hill (Zorn Atnikov), Brenden Wishlow, Courtney (Chris) Rink, Kyle Krukoff and Katie Krukoff; and great-grandchildren, Ezri Atnikov, Alana Rink and Amelia Rink.
A Private Graveside Service will be held at the Canora Cemetery. Those wishing to make expressions of sympathy may make donations to the Lakeside Manor care home in Saltcoats, as tokens of remembrance in memory of Mary Wishlow.
