Mary Patricia Stockley Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear Mother, Mary Patricia Stockley at the Lionel Kelland Hospice, Grand Falls-Windsor, at the age of 84.
Mom was a member of the St. John Ambulance, Catholic Women’s Association at the St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Toast Masters, founder of St. John Ambulance Pet Therapy at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Center.
Mom was the most selfless, kindest, loving, generous, supportive person. She truly loved her family more than anything, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her door was always open to family, friends and strangers. She loved children so much that even though she only had two daughters, her house was always full on weekends with our cousins and friends, after we were grown it was her grandchildren and their friends.
Mom enjoyed writing stories and poems, movie nights with us, playing cards, having fires, outings and later bingo and other activities at Lanes Retirement Home. She loved all of the staff and residents and Leighton who she always called “The Boss” and would chuckle afterwards.
She was predeceased by her husband Rothnie Stockley; parents Alberta Hedderson and Dorman Pelley; sister Jennifer Langton.
She leaves to mourn her daughters Linda (Frank) O’Reilly, Jill (Paul) Ruttgaizer; grandchildren Norman O’Reilly (Crystal), Jeff O’Reilly (Renee); great grandchildren Deegan (mom Crystal Sharron), Amber, Tristan, and Odessa.
We would like to thank her home support workers whom she dearly loved; staff at Lanes Retirement who tended to her with loving care and went above and beyond for her. Dr. Jody Woolfrey, Dr. Debbie Sin YanToo at the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Care Center and the amazing staff at the Lionel Kelland Hospice for their loving care of our mother and continuous support for us.
