It is with great sadness that the family of the late Nellie “Mary” Andersen Fowlow, Born January 6, 1959, announce her passing on September 13, 2023, at her home in Trinity East. Predeceased by her husband of many years, Wade Fowlow, her youngest son, Riley (angel boy), parents Andrew and Christiana Andersen, In-laws Oscar and Greta Fowlow and her older sister, Harriet.
Leaving to mourn are her son, Garett (Sam); Stepchildren; Tracy (Brian), Vernice (Jerry), Roland, daughter-in-law Brigid, and her precious grandchildren; Natalie, Autumn, Faith, Daniel, Dawson, Damian, Brandon, Emily, Ben, Liam and Elias. Also leaving to mourn is her stepmother, Caroline; her brothers; William (Jan) and Robert (Katie). Sisters: Jessie (Doug), Bertha, Joyce (Gordon); Sister-in-law Kathy; as well as a large circle of nieces and nephews (whom she loved dearly), other relatives and friends.
Mary was born in Makkovik and raised there with her siblings. She loved Labrador and was known by many as ‘laughing Mary’ with her infectious laugh. She was able to visit Labrador this past summer for the first time in 24 years and it made her heart full. Mary made Trinity East her home after moving there in 1985. She loved many things; berry picking, fishing, sewing, knitting, cooking and baking, reading and watching movies. Mary would patch and save anything until she was certain it was unusable- a skill that taught her children well. She could often be found playing cards with anyone who stopped in and offering a cup of tea or cooking dinner. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Cremation has taken place and a burial service held later this week.
