In Loving Memory of Patricia Mary Elizabeth Barker (née Secord)
March 20th, 1942 – September 21st, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Mary Elizabeth Barker, known affectionately as Mary, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who left us on September 21st, 2024, at the age of 82. A devoted registered nurse, Mary’s compassion and dedication touched the lives of many. Mary dedicated her life to caring for others, first as a nurse and later as a nurturing matriarch to her family. Her warm smile and kind spirit created a loving home, instilling values of kindness, empathy, and resilience in her children and grandchildren. Mary was also a talented cook and baker, known for her delicious meals and cherished family recipes that brought everyone together. She had a passion for gardening, finding joy in nurturing her plants and flowers, which mirrored her nurturing nature. Mary was predeceased by her partner, Larry Cassidy, whose love and companionship were a significant part of her life. She is survived by her cherished children, Ann (Steve), Carolin (Steve), Dale (Joanne), and Heather (Richard), along with her adored grandchildren and precious great-grandchildren. Each held a special place in her heart, and she found immense joy in watching them grow and thrive. Visitation for Mary will be held on Wednesday, September 25th, 2024 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at COOPER FUNERAL HOME, 19 Talbot Street West, Jarvis. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 26th, 2024 at 11 a.m in the chapel. Reception to follow. Mary’s legacy of love, compassion, and her delightful cooking will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
