Funeral arrangements entrusted to Hoskins Funeral Home, Botwood.
Mary adored her children, both Mary and Howard decided to relocate to Botwood to the Lane’s Retirement Home to be closer to their daughter Christina who became their care giver. After a short stay at Lanes, they decided to move in with Christina and Phonse on Dec 1, 2022, unfortunately shortly after, Mary due to increased illness required LTC and moved into the Dr. Hugh Twomey Health Centre.
Mary has had many health complications over the years, she was a fighter and one of the strongest woman one could meet. She dearly loved her home in Fortune Harbour and the life she built with her husband Howard. Mary worked hard, she spoke often of her time working at the mussel farm in Fortune Harbour, she was never late for anything, most often an hour early! She loved to cook, bake and clean. In her short time at the Twomey Centre she enjoyed activities, music and church. We the family cannot express enough thanks to the staff of the Twomey Centre during Mom’s stay. Special thankyou to Madeline McWilliams for your love and support, it means so much! Big thankyou to Danielle Rowsell, we don’t know how we would have gotten through this without you, you truly are an angel on earth, mom loved your visits and the many laughs you both shared! Phonse Hanlon, she thought the world of you, you were more than a son in-law, she trusted and respected you, when times got tough, you were her calming voice, thank you.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dr. Hugh Twomey Recreation Department.
