It is with profound
sadness that the family of Mary Ann Allen announce her passing on
September 18, 2024. Born on December 23,1948 in Bass River NB to Kelly
and Violet Roberts.
She leaves behind
Ray, her loving husband of 56 years. Daughters Angeline (Derek)
Forbes, Andrea (Brad) Crossley and Shelly (Joel)DeWolfe. She also has
eight incredible grandchildren-Alexandrea (Jake) and Brianna
(Barry)Forbes, Blaire (Lucas) Howell, Leah (Ethan), Mallory (Tyler)
and Pierce (Mikayla) Crossley and Bernie and Declan DeWolfe. As well
she was overjoyed to welcome one great grandchild, Dax
Howell.
She also leaves
behind sisters Evelyn Thompson, Beverley Fraser, Vivian Scott (Glen)
and brothers Frederick Roberts (Esther) and Louis Roberts. Mom had
many treasured nieces and nephews as
well.
Mary spent her
career with the federal fisheries at the fish hatchery where she made
many lifelong friends.
Mary loved the
outdoors, the ocean, spending time with her puppy Sara and with her
family. She was an amazing cook, a crafter, a quilter and in her later
years a puzzler. She also loved Christmas and her tree of ornaments.
We will miss her sense of humour which she did not lose even in her
final days, and the love she gave to all of us. Mary’s quiet
strength gave her large and beautiful family much
comfort.
She will reunite
with those who went before her, brothers James, David, Walter and
Richard and sister Helen. Sisters-in-law Sandra, Della, Rita and
Cathy, brothers-in-law Kenneth, Earl and
William.
There are many
people to thank for the care she received; all the oncology staff and
special nurse Maddie, Dr Galvais, Krista E of extramural hospital and
finally the whole staff of the hospice unit in Fredericton who were
amazing.
A private family
interment and a celebration of her life to be held at a later date. In
lieu of flowers donations to Hospice Fredericton would be
appreciated.
