It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Marwood Mills better known as Woody. Woody passed away Aug 1, 2024, at the age of 76 with his wife and best friend Linda Mills (Lewenza) at his side. Woody is survived by his two sons Jamie Mills, (friend Holly), and Jeff Mills (wife Cara) and special grandpa to Ella Mae Mills and Leo James Mills.
Woody was born in Windsor Ontario on Jan 16, 1948. Son of Donald and Violet Mills, Siblings Dan (Cher), Dave (Sandy), Ed, Marilyn, Allan, Jim, Wally, Bill, and Valerie. His extended family includes Aaron (Pam) Lewenza, Shirley (Gord) Ridgewell, Joan Fenton, Mark Lewenza and many nieces and nephews.
Woody loved his family and loved to go to their getaway in Florida to visit close friends and his “brother from another mother” Leon and Steph. He loved working on home projects with his sons or tinkering with his truck, the more challenging the better. He loved to golf and go for lunch with his friend Jim.
Woody retired from Chrysler after 43 years and enjoyed working on the build team in Auburn Hills.
The family would like to thank Aaron, Pam, Ken, Cori, Leon, Steph, Anna, Dino, Mary and many other friends and family that have shown their support. Our sorrow is somewhat easier to endure because of your kindness. Your sympathy will long be remembered.
Thanks to the doctors and nurses at WRH Ouellette Campus and the H.D.G Health Care Palliative Unit, for all of their care and compassion.
A special message to Ella and Leo, grandpa’s gone to the Olympics.
There will be a private family celebration of life in the future.
