It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marty Edward Hugh Sawyer on April 10, 2024, at the age of 68. Marty was born in Bracebridge, Ontario to Margaret and Delbert Sawyer. He grew up in the best of places, Port Sydney. He loved to swim and enjoyed all kinds of winter sports. He was a drywaller by trade and was good at it. He just loved life and being with his friends at the legion. Marty loved to garden and had a green thumb for anything that grew.
Marty is survived by his son Chistopher Johnson, grandchildren John and Ava, mother Margaret Sawyer McCulley, siblings Lee Sawyer, Debbie Sawyer, and Clay (Darlene) Sawyer, uncle Norman Sawyer, Aunt Karen MacInnes, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Marty is also survived by his stepfather Bob McCulley, stepsisters Tracy McCulley, Leta McCulley, and Troylea Greag, and stepbrother Bobbie.
A Celebration of Life will take place on May 4th, 2024 at the Royal Canadian Legion in Huntsville from 12:00 to 3:00 with the Legion Service taking place at 12:30.
