Mark Hyska, cherished father, son, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend suddenly passed away on January 25th, 2023.
Mark was the proud father of Sierra Belanger (Dave). Loving son of Emma and the late Joe Hyska. Beloved big brother of Kathy-jo Hyska. Proud «grandpa marker» of grandbabies Aubrey and Maverick Belanger. Loved and adored by his nephews Jeremy (Jocelyn), late Curtis and Corey (Courtney) Smith. A treasured nephew of Lorna and the late Paul Taillerfer. Loved by his cousins.
Mark was born and raised in the Sault, but he was true definition of a gypsy cowboy with a big heart. He had a great love for the outdoors, whether it was camping or throwing in a line. He was well known to travel all over the west coast for work, where he made some many long-lasting friendships. Mark held his friends near and far close to his heart and considered many of them family.
He was a self-taught musician who was able to play any tune after hearing it just a few times, it was as if he had the notes appear in his mind. He was a true entertainer, a teller of stories and singer of songs. Many would say he belonged in a different era. He had a way with animals and love for horses that suited his cowboy soul, that connection to horses and lifestyle lives in his daughter Sierra and family.
He will be truly missed.

As per family’s wishes, there will be no service held. We ask that in memory of Mark, if you hear a great tune, turn it up a little louder and sing, or tip a beer and cheers.
