It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we, the family of Marion E Jackson, announce the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandma, sister and friend on Sunday, November 19, 2023.
Born on November 29th, 1959, she was the daughter of the late Keith and Mildred (Mackenzie) Jackson of Seaview Drive, North Sydney.
Marion is survived by her sons David Kirkwood (Amanda Boutilier), Steve (Kayla) Kirkwood, her grandchildren Chauntel (Jack Young), Danae, Kadyn, Jack and Charlotte. She is also survived by her brother Fred (Susie) Jackson, nieces Valerie and Megan (Andrew) Zills. Besides her parents, Marion was also predeceased by her sister Heather Jackson.
Marion lived in Ontario for 19 years with the father of her children John Kirkwood. While in Ontario, she worked as a teacher and school bus driver. Marion moved back to Cape Breton with her children to be closer to her parents. Marion was fortunate to work in many different fields with amazing people. She finished her career at Harbour Stone Enhanced Care in Sydney. Anyone who was fortunate enough to meet Marion fell in love with her. She was a kind, loving, patient, wonderful woman who brought so much joy and love to many lives. Marion loved Christmas, it was her favorite time of the year: however, nothing could come close to the love she had for her family. When she wasn’t spending time with family, Marion loved to garden, go for drives and plan how she would decorate for the next holiday and season.
Marion had a deep and loving relationship with God. Her strong beliefs and faith were infectious, which shined through in her everyday life.
A visitation and celebration of life for Marion will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care and direction of W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
