Obituary
It is with great sadness that the families of Marilyn Colleen Reid (Parsons) announce her passing, due to cancer, on July 23, 2023 at the age of 63.
She fought the disease with determination and strength that is nothing short of inspirational. She was born on October 5, 1959 in Woody Point, NL to Nelson & Margaret Parsons. Marilyn resided in Norris Point for most of her life. Her passions were cooking, knitting which was sold locally and enjoyed by many within and beyond our province, keeping an immaculate home and relaxing in her own space including her cabin. She devoted her life to her husband, children and grandchildren. For many years, Marilyn worked as a waitress. She also spent several years on the water fishing with her husband. Marilyn is survived by her husband: Keith, her daughter: Mandy, siblings: Millicent Parsons( Wayne), Marie Stone, Arlene Keeping (Jeff), Randy Parsons (Natalie) and Robin Parsons (Dwayne), mother: Margaret, son-inlaw: Gerald Samms, grandchildren: Rachel Reid-Samms, Chantal Samms, Abigail Samms and Nathan Lane, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marilyn is predeceased by her daughter: Melanie, her father: Nelson Parsons and son-in-law: Stuart Lane.
In keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, cremation will take place and there will be no services scheduled at this time.
