Obituary
NICKERSON, Marilee Glendene – It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marilee Glendene Nickerson of Clark’s Harbour, NS. Marilee spent her final days at Bay Side Home surrounded by friends and family. She went to be with her Lord and Saviour during the early morning hours of April 6 with her daughter and son in law by her side. Marilee was 75. Marilee was the daughter of the late Manassah Glenwright “Glen” Nickerson and Edna Edith (Newell) Nickerson. She will be remembered for her many special titles and qualities. She was a proud, devoted mother and grandmother. Marilee loved Jesus, her family, her friends, and animals. She was a caregiver and spent countless years babysitting children. One quality that stands out was Marilee’s strength and she was admired by many for this strength. Marilee fought many obstacles in life with faith, courage, strength, dignity and gratitude. Until the day she passed, Marilee’s life was touching others; she was beautiful inside and out. Marilee is survived by her daughter, Meredith (Ryan) Ross; her wonderful grandchildren, Brock, Mattigan “Mattie”, and Ellie; sister, Clara (Mitchell) Atkinson; nieces, Dottie, Michelle, Sandra, Janet, Fredena; nephews, Joseph, Kirk, Gary, Michael, Eric, Carl, David, Douglas, Dale, John Allen, and John Foote; she is also survived by many special cousins and friends. Marilee was predeceased by her parents, Glen and Edna Nickerson; sister, Heather Stewart; brothers, Manassah Glenwright II, Lester, David; nephews, Freddy, Garth; and her great-nephew, Darren. Marilee’s family would like to thank all friends and family for continued support, Pastor Rob Hunt, Pastor Jason Parker, and the staff at Roseway and Yarmouth Hospitals. A very special thanks to VON/homecare, Marilee’s private homecare providers, and the wonderful staff at Bay Side Home. Your love and kindness, care, humour, and support shown to Marilee was nothing short of amazing. She loved you all. Arrangements are under the care and direction of H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home & Crematorium, Barrington. A graveside burial will take place at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Barrington’s Lions, CHAMBA, the United Baptist Stone Church or a charity of your choice. Online condolences may be sent to huskilson@ns.aliantzinc.ca or you may sign the guest book at www.huskilson.net
John 14: 1-3
“Don’t let your hearts be troubled
Trust in God, and trust also in me
There is more than enough room
in my Father’s home. If this
were not so, would I have told
you that I am going to prepare
a place for you? When everything
is ready, I will come and get you
so that you will always be with me
where I am.”
Until we meet again…
