LUCAS, E. Marie (née Porter) ~ November 23, 1937 – June 3, 2023 – of Lindsay passed away peacefully surrounded by her family and her partner.
Marie courageously battled cancer for 3 years. Marie was the daughter of Roy and Ethel Porter (née Malley) both predeceased. Marie was born in Pontypool, Ontario. Marie was married to the late Paul Lucas (Oct 6, 2006) for 48 ½ years. Marie is survived by her partner Harold Thompson, her 4 children Gary (Cynthia), Cathy, Steve (Shelly), Laurie, 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, her sister Bev Mathews (the late Don), brother Ron (Carol) and many nieces and nephews.
Marie enjoyed round and square dancing, camping, fishing, travelling, and was an avid baker, crafter and quilter.
Visitation will take place at the Stoddart Funeral Home, 24 Mill Street, Lindsay on Friday, June 9, 2023, from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:30-8:30pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Luke Church, Downeyville on Saturday, June 10 at 11:00 am, interment to follow at St. Luke Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, family is requesting that donations be made to Ross Memorial Hospital Foundation or The Knights of Columbus Hall #8911.
