Peacefully on December 9, 2023 at the age of 88 years, with her loving family by her side. Born in Casalvieri, Frosinone Italy on February 28, 1935. Beloved wife of late Filippio (2013) for 57 years. Dearest mother of Giovanna Orlando and husband John (Vancouver), Pietro and wife Ivana. Cherished nonna of Richard James (Christine), Christina Nicole (Alexander), Andrew Philip (Tiffany Kaitlin) and Stephanie Carmela (Kevin Gordon). Bis-nonna of Olivia Hailey, Liliana Eve, and Erica Sloane. Dear daughter of late Camillo and Guiseppina Recchia. Daughter-in-law to late Pietro and Giovanina Martini. Sister of Vincent Recchia and Linda Vozza.Sister-in-law to Pasquale and Maria Martini and Lucia Martini. Sister-in-law to late Antonio Vozza, her sister-in-law late Olga Recchia, sister-in-law to late Gino and Rosetta, late Angelino and Angelina, late Loreto and Lidia and late Arduino Martini. Maria will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, in Canada, U.S.A. and Italy.
She loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren, and enjoyed spending time around the home cooking, baking and knitting.

Visitation at Families First 3260 Dougall Ave. South Windsor, 519-969-5841 on Wednesday 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Parish prayers Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. Funeral Services on Thursday at 8:45 a.m. from the funeral home then to St. Angela Merici Church, 980 Louis Avenue for Mass at 9:30 a.m. Entombment at Heavenly Rest Cemetery.
