Obituary of Marguerite “Margot” Mary Regina Doiron
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our sister Margot on Friday, August 2, 2024 in the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Antigonish.
Born on June 18, 1934 in Montreal, she was a daughter of the late Munro and Alice (Daigle) Doiron. She leaves behind siblings Doris Rhéaume; Robert (Bernice) Doiron; Diane (Marcel) Grégoire; Monique Bond. She was predeceased by sisters Laurette (Gaston) Savoie; Irène (Jean Guy) Gagnon; Lucille and brothers-in-law Gaeton Rhéaume and Brian Bond.
Margot loved to pick berries and read. She had a passion for the French language. She was very involved in her community and volunteered her time as president of the Fane de Pomquet, correspondent for the Journal le Courrier de Pomquet, as well as correspondent for Pomquet on CBC Radio Canada. She was a leader for Girl Guides and coached baseball.
We would like to thank the staff of the Tanglewood unit of the R.K. MacDonald Nursing Home, Dr. Steve Gallant and MacIsaac Funeral Home for their compassionate care.
Cremation has taken place. As per her wishes there will be no visitation or funeral. A celebration of life will take place at 11 am on Saturday, August 24th in Centre Communautaire de Pomquet/École acadienne de Pomquet. Memorial donations may be made to the R.K. MacDonald Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia.
