Obituary of Margaret Jeanne Goodhand
Goodhand, Margaret «Jeanne»
It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Jeanne at Campbellford Memorial Hospital, on June 29th, 2024 in her 79th year. Cherished daughter of the late Lindsay and Dorothy Millar. Survived by her husband Doug (50 years); She is a cherished mother to twin sons Shawn (Lisa), Shane (Dawn), and daughter Alison (Steve). She is also survived by her brother Ken (Linda), and predeceased by her sister Patricia (2004). Jeanne will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren Paige, Will, Hannah and Lauren. Jeanne was well known for many years of Administration of Retirement Homes and a Director of a Health Centre. In later years and until retirement she enjoyed supply teaching in the area of elementary schools. After retirement, she and Doug spent a few winters in Florida. In her younger years, Jeanne enjoyed singing and playing her accordion around campfires or at a party anywhere. She enjoyed singing at weddings and church choirs. She kept singing in local choirs as long as she was able. Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will follow at the farm at a later date. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr. Robert Neville and Dr. Gareth Hanson of Peterborough. And a special thanks to Dr. Chippa and the staff at Campbellford Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care over the last two weeks and up until the last moments of her life.
