Peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on Friday, March 15, 2024, at Hilllel Lodge in Ottawa. Born on January 15, 1932 in Marrakech, Morocco. Predeceased by his wife of sixty-five years, Nadine Serrouya (née Bentolila). He is survived by his three children, Daniel, Lillian (Robert), and Rob (Sylvia). He was the patriarch of a large family spread out across the globe. Marc will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Sean Thibault (Julia), Richard Thibault (Melissa) and Patricia Thibault; Carlos Serrouya, and Ruby Serrouya. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Jacob, Samuel, Sofia and Jamie.
A special thank you to Tom Birkhan who has been an absolute rock for our dad caring for him during his five-year journey with dementia. The family would also like to extend warm thanks to the Glebe Centre and Hillel Lodge. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 18 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Ave., Ottawa, Ontario. Burial at the Jewish Memorial Gardens, 2692 Bank Street Ottawa, Ontario. Shiva will be observed at 835 Nicholson Avenue, Ottawa, Monday following burial, and Tuesday through Thursday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. daily. Services Monday at 7:00 p.m. Donations to Hillel Lodge or Sephardi Association of Ottawa in Marc’s memory would be greatly appreciated by his family.
