Mance Whalen Obituary
Passed away peacefully at Brightshores Health System, Owen Sound on Monday, June 10, 2024. Born Sunday, May 3, 1931, Mancel Edward Whalen of Annan, was in his 94th year.
Beloved husband and best friend of Norma Whalen (nee Taylor). Loving father of Michael Whalen (Leanne) of Owen Sound, Brian Whalen (Shelley) of Tofield, Alberta, and Steven Whalen (Tara) of Stratford. Cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Grover Whalen (Gail). Mance will also be missed dearly by his nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his parents Cecil and Lillian Whalen, his brother Martin Whalen, and his daughter Leeann Brand (Jim).
Mance was a devoted employee of the Owen Sound PUC for 35 years in Owen Sound. He was an avid hunter on his days off and found joy amongst the wilderness on a hunt.
Mance’s family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Brightshores Health System, Owen Sound, for their compassionate care during Mance’s final days.
In keeping with Mance’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492.
