Macie Cannon Armstrong – age 78 of Knoxville went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 23, 2023. Macie played the organ for her church, Eastwood Baptist Church, for many years. She was a secretary for the State of Tennessee. Macie was a kind and gracious friend who was loved by many. She had an infectious sense of humor even when she wasn’t trying to be funny.
Preceded in death by husband, Glen Armstrong; parents, Gettys and Johnnie Cannon; brother, Glenn Cannon; and sister, Pat Fowler; sister-in-law, Dorothy Cannon.
Survived by son, Wayne Armstrong; daughter, Susan (Claude) Abston; grandchildren, Kayla (Keith Staley) Kerr, Megan Lowery, and Ashton Abston; great grandchildren, Marlie and Leela; brother, Ralph (Marina) Cannon; brother-in-law, Martin Fowler; and sister-in-law, Carol Cannon.
The family will receive friends 2:00-4:00 PM on Sunday, January 29, 2023, at Bridges Funeral Home. Family and friends will gather 8:15 AM on Monday at East TN Veterans Cemetery-John Sevier Hwy. for an 8:30 AM graveside service with Rev. Matthew Cannon officiating.
