PAYNE, Maralee Lynda (nee Irvine) –
It is with a heavy heart and profound sense of loss that we pronounce the sudden death of our mother, on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. Lynda, as she was fondly known to family and friends, always had a kind word for everyone she met. She was well liked and well respected. One of her joys was working at CSA where she had developed special friendships over a 20 year career span as an executive assistant. One of her favourite activities was to play Candy Crush and Wheel of Fortune on her phone while watching T.V., with a coffee and a sweet treat in her hand. She loved a good card game, dancing, listening to oldies music, and playing ball with the Rexdale Ladies Softball League as a great pitcher and first baseman. She was also a huge Toronto sports fan and was often heard screaming at the T. V. either cheering them on or yelling at them to «smarten up». Lynda was predeceased by her husband John (2001). She will be forever missed by her children, Joe (Marlene), Michael, Maralee (Vito), Kathleen, Sandy (Scott) and Jennifer, as well as her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Resting at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue (North of Rexdale Boulevard) on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Benedict Church, 2194 Kipling Avenue, on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 11 a.m. Our mother donated to many charities, and she has a special place in her heart for Sick Kids Hospital. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to donate to Sick Kids in her honour. Rest in peace beautiful lady, we love you. Online condolences at newediukfuneralhome.com
