We are crushed to be announcing the
passing of friend, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister Lydia Alexa
Alexander on June 17, 2024 at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital,
Fredericton, N.B.
However, this isn’t
Lydia’s final gift, for she will live on in a legion of
stories of her far-flung friendships, work, art, humanity, charm,
encouragement, and, an uncanny ability to draw people out…
she touched so many lives.
To quote a tribute in the
50th anniversary issue of the Northern Ontario
Art Association:
«Lydia is a lady with a
love and enthusiasm for art, a print maker and painter of great
talent. Her enthusiasm for any job she undertakes is
infectious so those who work with her share her pleasures, gain
knowledge and confidence in their work. As a teacher, Lydia
can reach the most art illiterate and stimulate their latent talents,
as well as keeping the more knowledgeable in a class
challenged. In addition to all these qualities Lydia is one
heck of a scrabble opponent!»
Born on August 24, 1942 in Toronto,
Ontario to Daniel Alexander Ross and Mildred Elizabeth Jane Proctor;
she is survived by her husband Dale, daughter Alexa Charlotte Trusiak
(Peter), grandsons Alexander and Daniel Trusiak, and, brother Paul
Nelson Ross (Shirley).
We have
lost a treasure.
We invite you to celebrate
her life. She would wish you to pay it forward and raise a
glass on her behalf.
Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540
Woodstock Road, Fredericton NB, have been entrusted with her
arrangements. For those who wish to make a memorial donation
in Lydia’s memory, the family have suggested a charity of
the donor’s choice
