It is with great sorrow that the family announces Luke Williams’ passing at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre in Sudbury on March 8, 2024, at the age of 90 years. Son of the late Aime and Clara Williams. Beloved husband of Mildred “Millie” Williams (née Dempsey). Loving father of Danny (Lisa), late Susan and Brian (Jackie). Cherished grandfather of late Crystal, Branden, Julia and Sierra. Predeceased by his siblings Adolphe, Lucienne, George (late Charlotte), Frank (late Christine), David (Joan) and Edgar. Luke was born and raised in Neguac, New Brunswick. Luke worked at Inco and retired from the transportation department. He like to tinker in his garage fixing bikes, lawnmowers and whatever he could find. He played hockey as a goalie; he was also an empire for years. He loved watching baseball and his granddaughter Crystal play. His favorite line was saying “Your out of there!” Every day Luke enjoyed getting in his van to go get his daily coffee and apple fritter. Luke will be missed by many. Special thanks to the team of nurses and PSWs that helped him at St. Joseph’s Continuing Care Centre especially to nurse Lorrie who Luke would always listen to. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd, Sudbury, on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home Chapel. Donations can be made by cheque or online to the Maison McCulloch Hospice. www.cooperativefuneralhome.ca
