Loretta May Sullivan – 91, Debert, formerly of West
Branch, Pictou County, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 23,
2023, at Elk Court, Brookfield. Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, USA,
she was a daughter of the late George and Florence (Pierce)
Cameron.
In earlier years, Loretta owned and operated a convenience
store in Truro before working as a delivery driver for Canada Post
until she retired. She was a life member of West Branch United Church,
loved to sing and also fostered many stray cats over the years, so
many that they had to build a piece on to the back of the
barn!
Loretta is survived by her son, Michael Sullivan, Truro;
grandchildren, Jennifer (Brandon) Williams, Debert; Jeff Gilchrist,
Prince George, British Columbia; great grandchildren, Brandon
Gilchrist, Dante Gilchrist, Declan Gilchrist, Hartley Williams,
Debert; siblings, Martha (Keith) Blois, Truro; Rudy Broussesu, Truro;
Bev Gould, Truro; Ernie Cameron, Bass River; several nieces and
nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband,
Ottis; daughter, Margaret Ann (Wayne) Gilchrist; sister, Bernice
(Richard) Fraser.
Private interment will be held at a later date in West Branch
Cemetery, West Branch, Pictou County. If so desired, donations in
Loretta’s memory to CARMA Cat Rescue Maritimes – Colchester
Chapter or Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia are
welcomed.
