Obituary
Loran Lewis Chetwynd, a man who packed a lifetime of laughter, love and adventure into sixty-five incredible years, passed away at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital on Monday, June 10th with his family by his side.
Loran was born on May 10th, 1959 in East Baccaro, Nova Scotia. He spent his life working on piece work and many jack of all trade jobs. He also spent most of his time making people laugh, and cherishing time with his loved ones. His infectious spirit and zest for life made every day an amazing one.
Loran’s greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted father to Taylor and Dylan Chetwynd (Shania), and a proud grandfather to his two beloved granddaughters, Mila and Aubree. He is also survived by his sisters, Valerie Nickerson, Doris Murphy (Ralph), Doreen Penney and Velvet Dolliver (Vince); many nieces, nephews and cousins that he dearly loved. He was predeceased by his father, Wilfred Chetwynd; mother, Faye Chetwynd and brother, Charlie Chetwynd.
Though his battle with COPD may have slowed him down, it never dimmed his spark. Loren’s quick wit and playful humor brought joy to all who knew him, even in his final days. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched and the memories we will cherish.
Rest in peace Loran. Your laughter, love and spirit will never be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Barrington. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
