Lloyd Arthur Thompson – July 23, 1950-December 17, 2023. Survived by son Tyler and children Nevaeh Noeth and Aries Thompson. Sister, Florence Guy. Brother, Jim Thompson, several nieces, and a nephew. Pre-deceased by his wife, Jo-Anne Thompson; father, Arthur Thompson; mother, Ida Thompson and sister-in-law, Trudy Thompson.
Lloyd was born in Paradise Hill, Saskatchewan on July 23, 1950, to Arthur and Ida Thompson. He grew up on the farm south of Paradise Hill and attended the Meadow Dew School from 1956 through to 1964 until the school closed and then attended Paradise Hill School until 1968.
Lloyd worked on the Deer Creek Bridge, did construction work in Manitoba and seismic work around Dawson Creek, BC.
He met Jo-Anne Feeney in 1985, and married in July 1988, and had a son, Tyler, on May 5, 1987.
Lloyd worked on the family farm and took it over after the passing of his father in 1985, until approximately 2003, when Jo-Anne fell sick. After Jo-Anne’s passing he started working at the Paradise Hill Bar. He also worked at the RM of Frenchman Butte for multiple years until he went on disability, for a hip replacement. On June 22, 2018, he underwent surgery and suffered a stroke. He was then moved to the Pine Island Lodge in Maidstone, Saskatchewan, where he spent the remainder of his years under the care of the amazing staff, nurses, doctors, and family until he passed away December 17, 2023.
