Lisa died peacefully at the age of 101 on October 4th, 2023 in Victoria, BC. She was born in Copenhagen Denmark on September 23rd, 1922.
Predeceased by her husband, Soren in 2000; a son, Palle (who died shortly after birth); a son-in-law, Dave; a daughter-in-law, Kathy; and a granddaughter-in-law, Kim. Lisa is survived by her children, Poul, Kirsten, Knud (Lynda), Leif (Ilka), Ivan (Angela), Robert (Leah), and Alan; grandchildren Dave (Michelle), Mike, Eric (Leslee), Chris (Michelle), Jeff, Kyle, Dana, and Erik; great-grandchildren Chris (Finn), Noah, Julie, Ethan, Regan, Adam (Alix), Anna and Danika; and great-great-grandson Arthur. She will also be missed by her relatives in Denmark and friends.
Lisa grew up in Copenhagen where she enjoyed dancing, riding her bicycle and family holidays to Sweden. After marrying Soren in 1944, she moved to the small Danish village of Almstok where they started their family. In 1954, they immigrated to Canada and settled in Revelstoke, BC for many years where they continued raising their children before moving to Victoria in 1975. Lisa enjoyed having fun with people, sharing stories from her childhood and enjoyed many different activities over the years. She loved her dogs and enjoyed building puzzles, playing games and caring for her aquarium fish. In later years, she was a regular at Hillside Mall where she enjoyed meeting friends for coffee.
Thanks to the staff at Mount St. Mary’s who took such good care of Lisa. She would often say how much she enjoyed living there.
Lisa will be missed by many and also fondly remembered for bringing so much joy into our lives.
