It is with broken hearts and much sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Lisa Marie Anderson of Skiff Lake, NB on Sunday, July 21, 2024, in Southern Utah. Lisa was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, auntie, and friend to many.
Lisa was born in Hartford, Connecticut on September 17, 1967, to the late Walter and Mary Metherell.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Brent Anderson, son: Kaleb (Emily) Miles, daughter: Caitlin Miles, son: Nathan (Hillarie) Miles, and as she called them, her “bonus” children: Shayne (Kourtney) Anderson, Kevin (Emily) Anderson, and Kaitlyn (Dylan) Anderson, her grandchildren Sadie, Kohen, Khali, Rosalie, and Lainey, her siblings: Wally (Amy) Metherell, May (Ernie) Atkinson, Danny and Robbie Metherell, brother-in-law Fred (Gwen) Anderson, Ernie Anderson, Linda (Stephen) Robson, and Gary Johnston. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Besides her parents, Lisa was predeceased by her daughter Sarah Miles, her in-laws Ralph and Lillian Anderson, and sister-in-law Susan Johnston.
Lisa split her time between Skiff Lake, New Brunswick and Houlton, Maine, taking pride and pouring love into both homes.
Lisa approached life with so much love, joy, and a great appreciation for the little moments. These attributes, along with many other inspiring characteristics, created a radiance about her that was easily noted when she entered a room. Lisa’s life revolved around her family and friends. She was a proud wife, who was constantly creating new projects, finding places to explore, and growing with her life partner, Brent. She was a dedicated, supportive, and incredibly patient mother, who took pride in her children’s accomplishments. She was a loving grandmother, or as she would prefer, Lolli. Lolli had a hard time saying no, and was always up for anything, including collecting rocks to hosting tea parties, although one may argue those activities were more her idea. She was a dedicated sister, who consistently showed unconditional love and support. She was a caring Auntie, with an open-door policy. As a friend, she wore many hats, including but not limited to therapist, life coach, spiritual advisor, and partner in crime.
Lisa had a deep love for traveling and would never say no to an adventure. This led her all around the world from Ireland to Israel, Italy, Greece, Iceland, and beyond. She had multiple hobbies including golf, writing, reading, and volunteering. No matter what she did, she was never known to give anything less than 100%. Her dedication and hard work were seen all throughout her life from her role with family, friends, hobbies, and previous careers.
“Today I create the emotional atmosphere that allows the realization of the path. It is not where it leads, it is the path itself.” – Lisa M. Anderson
If you would like to pay your respects, calling hours will be open to the public at Carleton Funeral Home in Jacksonville, New Brunswick on Monday, July 29, 2024, from 5pm to 8pm ADT (Canadian Time). There will be no public service held.
To honor Lisa’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. More information surrounding these details will be released once available.
