It is with deep sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother on July 18, 2023 in Sudbury at the age of 92 years.
Daughter of the late Ferdinand and the late Augustine (née Whissell) Devost. Beloved wife of the late Gérard Brabant.
Cherished mother of the late Marianne Gauthier (late George), Marcel (Pauline), Roger (Diane), Yvette Bélanger (Oscar), late Raymond, Rachel (Andy Bélanger), Claude (Lorraine), Nicole Slack (late Chris), André (Line), Michel (Diane) and Mona Roy (Jacques).
She was the only survivor of her family, being predeceased by her siblings; Elizabeth Devost, Thérèse Schmelter, Damasse, Yvon, Clairette Neault and Jean.
Cherished grandmother of 20 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Sadly missed by many sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to raising 11 children, our mother always found time to volunteer with the Club 50 in Chelmsford, the St-Joseph’s parish ladies auxiliary and as a master bowler at Valley Bowl with the YBC and vision impaired. Social butterfly till she was well into her 80+, our mother spent endless hours helping others in the community. She always put others first.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the 4th floor, Extendicare Falconbridge for their excellent care and compassion.
You leave us with many wonderful memories Mom. May you now join Dad and rest in peace.
A funeral Mass will be held at St-Joseph Parish on Errington Ave, Chelmsford, on Monday, July 24, 2023 at 11 a.m.
