It is with great sadness we announce the passing of both our parents. They passed peacefully at their residence in Quidi Vidi Village surround by their family only days from each other.
Dad, Leslie Francis Hynes on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, age 82 years. Mom Mary “Lot” Hynes on Thursday, January 25, 2024, aged 81 years. They were married 62 years.
Leaving to mourn with cherished memories children: Les (Linda), Randy (Roz), Edwina (Albert), Petula (Brian), Juanita (Bernie), Jim (Jacqui), Faye (John); 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; as well many extended relatives and friends to numerous to mention.
Thank you to our friends and neighbours for your many acts of kindness.
Very special thanks to the staff of ICU and 7th floor west for all your support in getting our dad home to the love of his life, our mom before her passing.
Flowers or donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Visitation will be held at Caul’s Funeral Home, 84 LeMarchant Road on Sunday, January 28th from 2:00-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm. Funeral Mass will take place at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist on Monday, January 29th, 2024 at 1:30pm. God looked around his garden, and He found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest, God’s garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain, He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw that the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb. So, he closed your weary eyelids and whispered, “peace be thine”. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone, for part of us went with you, the day God called you home.
