Les Pardy
February 13th, 1947 – March 6th, 2024
On March 6th, 2024, at the age of 77, Les Pardy of Bonavista, passed away peacefully at Michael Garron Hospital in Toronto, with his daughter Amanda and son-in-law Brian at his side. Having suffered from a long battle with cancer and lung complications, Les’s long brave battle has come to an end.
Predeceased by his loving wife Pauline, daughter Kathy and parents Muriel and William. He is survived by his daughter Amanda (Brian) and grandsons Anderson (Christina), Kody (Melissa) and granddaughter Kayla (Jonny), and his much-loved sisters Janette and Dorothy. His extended family and friends will greatly miss him.
Les’s journey through life was marked by a deep love for his family, country music, his pets and a passion for fishing and the outdoors. Les possessed a musical talent, like many of his siblings, and with his trusty guitar in hand, he would strum and sing melodies that were a source of joy for those around him. Later in life, Les was an avid gardener, finding comfort in nurturing his garden and watching it flourish under his care. Throughout his life, Les was blessed with the love and companionship of his dear wife, Pauline, and their two cherished daughters, Kathy and Amanda. His kind spirit touched the hearts of all who knew him.
He is now with Pauline, Kathy, his beloved dog Waylon, and many friends and family, with whom he was looking forward to being connected again.
Amanda and Brian extend heartfelt gratitude to the Palliative Care Unit staff of Michael Garron Hospital, for their compassionate care. A special thanks to Dr. Hicks and Dr. Abosh of St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, for their care and guidance over the past 3 years. Their kindness and resilience will always be in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place and the family invites friends and loved ones to reminisce and pay their respects during the visitation between 10 am – 12 pm on March, 30th at Strathie’s Funeral Home in Bonavista. The memorial service will take place at 2 pm. A committal service is to be held in the summer.
Donations in Les’s memory may be made to the SPCA in Clarenville or a charity of your choosing.
