Lichty, Leona (née Schwartzentruber) 1933 – 2024
The family announces with sorrow her death in Sturgeon Falls, Saturday May 18, 2024 at the age of 90 years. Daughter of the late Simon and of the late Laura (née Jutzi). Beloved wife of the late Noah. Dear mother of Philip (Sharon), Laura Karelse (Peter), and Julie Hjelte (Dean). Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her 10 grandchildren, and her 17 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother, Wayne (Debbie); her sisters Reta (Vern) Baker, Ruth Boettger, Arlene (Greg) Naumann; her sisters in-law Jean Schwartzentruber, Janet Schwartzentruber, and Noella Schwartzentruber; many nieces & nephews, great nieces & nephews and great-great nieces & nephews. She is predeceased by her brothers Arthur, Ray, Nyle, Glen, Clare, Elverne, Simon Jr., and her sisters Ellen (Messner) and Erma (Tucker); her in-laws Roy Tucker, Glen Cole, Bob Boettger, Joan Schwartzentruber, Gale Stewart and Pauline Schwartzentruber. The family will receive friends for visitation at the Calvary Church, Monetville on Friday May 24, 2024 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday May 25, 2024 at All Peoples Cemetery in Monetville followed by celebration of life at the Calvary Church on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements in care of the Theoret-Bourgeois Funeral Home, Sturgeon Falls.
