1923-2023
Leona Elizabeth Giberson of Arthurette, NB, passed away peacefully at
the Tobique Valley Manor on April 10, 2023.
Leona was born in Rowena, NB, on November 28, 1923. She was the
daughter of the late Charles and Lena (Finnamore) Smith. Leona leaves
behind her daughter, Dorothy Campbell (Maurice) of Burlington, ON; her
sons, David Giberson (friend Mavis Briggs) and Frank Giberson
(Barbara), both of Sisson Ridge, NB; her daughter-in-law, Catherine
Giberson of Georgetown, ON; ten grandchildren and fourteen great
grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
Leona was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Arthur Giberson;
her sons, Kenneth and Daryl Giberson; her grandson, Michael Giberson;
her daughter-in-law, Bonita Giberson; her sisters, Marion Davenport
and Elva Stacey; her brothers, Harry, Robert, Clifton, Wayman, Roy,
Nelson, and Donald Smith.
Leona was a Lifetime Member of the Arthurette United Baptist Church
Women’s Missionary.
Resting at the Tobique Chapel in Plaster Rock, NB, with visitation on
Friday from 12-2 pm. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 14,
2023 at 2 pm from the Tobique Chapel. Mr. Kenneth Campbell
officiating. Interment will be in the Arthurette Baptist Cemetery at a
later date.
For those who wish, memorial donations to the Arthurette Baptist
Cemetery or to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the
family.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brunswick Funeral Home,
Perth-Andover and Plaster Rock, NB.
